When I
first started to design my Sauron cosplay outfit for Popcult Helsinki, I decided he should have some fancy
accessories as he had been the apprentice of Aulë the smith and as my outfit was
made of recycled materialsthe accessories should be aswell.
Kun ensimmäiseksi
aloin suunnitella Sauron cosplay asuani Popcult Helsinki tapahtumaan, päätin että halusin pukuun hienoja asusteita
sillä Sauron oli toiminut Aulë Sepän oppilaana ja koska asuni oli valmistettu
kierrätysmateriaaleista piti asusteidenkin olla.
The crown and
rings are made from wire and fimo. I found a few packages of polymer clay from
the Recycle center a few years ago and when I started to work with it, it was
hard as rock and literally bruised my palms… The wire is from my old cosplay I
took apart. The led light is from a fake candle and it flickered on and off at
times.
Kruunu
ja sormukset ovat rautalangasta ja fimosta. Löysin muutama vuosi sitten pari
pakettia massaa Kierrätyskeskuksesta ja kun aloin vihdoin työstämään sitä sain
mojovat mustelmat kämmeniini… Rautalanka oli vanhasta purkaamastani cosplay
asusta. Led valon otin irti tekokynttilästä ja se välkähteli pois päältä ja
päälle ajoittain.

| Belts/ Vyöt |
The fabric
belt is put together from small pieces hence the seams on the sides. There are
two kinds of fabrics: The one on top is velvet and under it is a small cotton
part. I had to put a zipper on the back as it would have been too difficult to
work that overlapping four- piece front.
Kangasvyö on koottu pienistä paloista ja siksi sivuissa onkin saumat.
Vyössä on kahta erilaista kangasta: päällä on samettia ja alla pieni puuvillainen
kaitale. Minun täytyi pistää vyön taakse vetoketju sillä oli aivan liian
vaikeaa saada neliosainen päällekkäin asettuva etuosa toimimaan muuten.
It was a fun cosplay to make,
eaventough painful. I’d want to make another Sauron cosplay outfit in the near future but we’ll
see what happens…
Se oli hauska cosplay tehdä, vaikkakin
kivulias. Haluaisin tehdä toisen Sauron cosplay asun lähitulevaisuudessa mutta saa
nähdä mitä tapahtuu…
