I finished my Morgoth
Bauglir cosplay! Again! Popcult Helsinki was a week ago and only now is my shoulder pain dissipating (I love hand
sewing but it kills my shoulders). The outfit finally looks the way I wanted it to so I am
satisfied with the design. Although. I might make the Iron Crown anew since one
of my Silmarills’ broke during Sunday morning (of course just before the
competition). Also I hurt my right arm quite badly on Saturday morning,
an un-opened coffee drink exploded in my bag at the event, etc... The curse of Morgoth continues to live on.
Of course most of the
pictures were blurry but that’s what you get when you take pics of creatures
with dark minds.
Sain valmiiksi Morgoth Bauglir cosplay asuni! Taas! Popcult Helsinki tapahtuma oli viikko sitten ja nyt vasta alkaa hartiakipu hellittämään (Rakastan
käsinompelua mutta se tappaa hartiat). Vihdoinkin puku näyttää siltä
miltä suunnittelin joten olen tyytyväinen lopputulokseen. Toisaalta. Saatan vielä
tehdä Rautakruunun uudestaan sillä yksi Silmarilleista meni rikki sunnuntaiaamuna
(tietysti ennen kisoja). Satutin myös oikean käteni lauantaiaamuna,
avaamaton kahvijuoma räjähti repussani tapahtumassa, ym… Morgothin kirous elää
yhä.

Despite all the mishaps
I got more pictures of my outfit this time! Since Yukicon 2017 I had changed the under robe and
belt design. I must say this new one looks better and as I
simply adore huge sleeves, I’m happy to I have them in this cosplay. I am
surprisingly satisfied with the whole outcome of the outfit; how it looks, feels, weights..
But then again I’ve been designing it since I first cosplayed Sauron back in
2015.
Kaikista pikku
kömmähdyksistä huolimatta sain tällä kertaa enemmän kuvia asustani! Olin
vaihtanut aluskaavun sekä vyön suunnitelmaa Yukicon 2017 jälkeen. Täytyy
sanoa että tämä uusi näyttää paremmalta ja koska rakastan isoja hihoja, olen
onnellinen saadessani ne tähän cosplay pukuun. Olen yllättävän tyytyväinen
tähän uuteen versioon asusta; miltä se näyttää, tuntuu, painaa… Mutta olenkin
suunnitellut asua siitä saakka kun ensimmäisen kerran cossasin Sauronia 2015.

I got into the design
competition by chance this time, two days before the actual event. About a month earlier I had
inquired if they would have any cancellation places but
they didn’t at the time. Three days before the event I received an email saying
that they now had an opening! …And I read the message a day after that. Hahaha--
Haah. That was one exhausting weekend. But I did it! Eaven tough I am shy,
have anxiety attacks and whatnots but I still pulled through.
Most of my Sunday
morning was spent in the dressing room and behind the stage but I did get to meet some
nice people and the awesome South Park Goth cosplayers (my favourite characters
along with Butters and Tweek). They participated the Popcult CMV competition
with their video: A Nightmare on Poser Street. Watch it, it’s amazing!
Later on we bumped
into each other in the convention area and well- -
Pääsin sattumalta mukaan design kisaan tänä vuonna, kaksi päivää ennen itse tapahtumaa. Olin tiedustellut
kuukausi aiemmin josko heille olisi tullut peruutuspaikkoja mutta ei sillä hetkellä
ollut. Kolme päivää ennen tapahtumaa olin saanut sähköpostin jossa sanottiin
peruutuspaikan auenneen! …Ja luin viestin vasta siitä seuraavana päivänä.
Hahaha- - Huoh. Se oli uuvuttava viikonloppu. Mutta minä tein sen! Vaikka olen
ujo, minulla on paniikkikohtauksia ja ties mitä mutta selvisin siitä
huolimatta.
Suurimman osan
sunntaiaamusta vietin pukuhuoneessa ja lavan takana, pääsin myös tapaamaan
mukavia ihmisiä ja aivan mahtavat South Park goottien cossaajat (suosikki
hahmoni Buttersin ja Tweekin lisäksi). He osallistuivat Popcultin CMV kisaan
videollaan: A Nightmare on Poser Street. Katsokaa video, se on upea!

Tietysti suurin osa kuvista
on utuisia mutta sen siitä saa kun ottaa kuvia olennoista joilla on synkeät
mielet.

The next convention
that I’m attending will be- - Tracon. There’s still plenty time for that so I
can focus on my other hobbies for now. I am thinking of taking my Morgoth (and/
or the revamped Sauron!) cosplay to Tracon but I was also playing with the idea of
cosplaying Ulmo… Ai Valar! Maybe I should just stick with the villains. I think
Morgoth will continue to live its own life and evolve with every convention I
wear it to and Sauron- - well I would like to make the upgraded version (I
already bought some fabrics… ^_^’) to wear in some event or eaven an Annatar
version. Time will tell…
Seuraava con johon
osallistun tulee olemaan- - Tracon. Siihen on vielä paljon aikaa joten voin
keskittyä muihin harrastuksiini joksikin aikaa. Ajattelin ottavani Morgoth (ja/
tai uudistettu Sauron!) cosplay asuni Traconiin mutta olen leikitellyt
ajatuksella cossata Ulmoa… Ai Valar! Ehkä nyt kuitenkin pitäytyisin vain
näissä pahiksissa. Luulen
että Morgoth jatkaa omaa elämäänsä kehittyen jokaisen conin mukana ja Sauron- -
No haluaisin tehdä asusta päivitetyn version (ostin siihen jo kankaitakin ^_^’)
johonkin tapahtumaan tai toteuttaa jopa Annatar- version. Aika näyttää…
