Frostbite 2015 ramble

DesuconFrostbite 2015 is already long gone but I haven’t had the chance to update my thoughts on it since I just moved to another apartment. Anyway!

Desucon Frostbite 2015 on jo ollut ja mennyt mutta en vain ole kerennyt päivittää siitä sillä muutin juuri uuteen asuntoon. Kuitenkin!

Let’s just make a simple pros and cons list:

 Tehdäänpä helppo ruusut ja risut listaus:

PROS:

+Pillow fight- A great way to relieve stress after struggling with the make of your cosplay. It was so much fun! …Although a few people hurt themselves quite badly.

+ Fleamarket- My preciousss...

+ Valentines theme- It was nice that they had put more effort on the Valentine’s Day stuff. I always feel like it just drifts by because I’m in a convention.

+ K-18 programs- There were more adult themed programs which was good. If you have an event that’s K-18 better make the most of it!

+ Artists Alley- Filled with people on both times from opening to the closing. Everyone was so nice, both sellers and customers and I eaven got to watch a seller make a watercolor painting. Cool~

+ Lastu dinner- Simply because it’s a bliss to have REAL food in a convention.

Ruusut:

+Tyynysota- Loistava tapa purkaa cosplayn tekemisestä tullut stressi. Se oli niin hauskaa! …vaikka muutama ihminen satuttikin itsensä aika pahasti.

+Kirpputori- Aaarteeni... 

+Ystävänpäivä teema- Oli kiva että ystävänpäivään oli panostettu tällä kertaa enemmän. Tuntuu että se aina jotenkin vilahtaa ohi kun on conissa.

+K- 18 ohjelma- Sitäkin löytyi tällä kertaa enemmän. Jos tapahtuma on K-18 luokiteltu niin siitä kannattaa ottaa kaikki ilo irti!

+Taidekuja- Täynnä ihmisiä molempina päivinä aukeamisesta sulkeutumiseen. Kaikki olivat todella mukavia, niin myyjät kuin kävijätkin ja pääsin jopa katsomaan kuin eräs myyjistä teki vesivärimaalausta. Siistiä~

+Lastun päivällinen- Koska on taivaallista saada oikeaa ruokaa conissa.

 CONS:

- Alcohol/ the evening party- There’s already so much alcohol related activities in Finland so why do we have to have it in the convention area? It was better when the evening party was alcohol free and the one who wanted to have something a bit stronger went to a local club reserved for the con people. That worked so much better… It was really unnerving to watch the drunken people in a place that’s supposed to be safe and it feels like when it comes to liqueur, Finnish just don’t know how to drink with moderation. I knew there was going to be some mildly intoxicated people like there was last year, but it surprised me how many had gone overboard with it. (Also the entrance arrangement didn’t really work…)

- Night program- …There wasn’t ANY. Why? Usually there’s atleast some drawing workshop going on.

 -  The line to Café Ichigo- I still haven’t gotten in the Café since there is always a line, but it’s something that can’t be helped unless they get a bigger space and more staff.

Risut:

- Alkoholi/ iltabileet- Suomessa on jo paljon alkoholiin liittyvää tekemistä joten miksi se pitää tuoda myös con alueelle? Mielestäni oli parempi että iltabileet olivat alkoholittomat ja he jotka halusit vähän vahvempaa siirtyivät paikalliselle clubille joka oli varattu conittajien käyttöön. Se toimi niin paljon paremmin… Oli todella ahdistavaa katsella humalaisia paikassa jonka pitäisi olla turvallinen kävijöilleen ja jotenkin tuntuu siltä ettei suomessa osata juoda kohtuudella. Tiesin että siellä olisi viimevuoden tapaan muutamia hieman humaltuneempia ihmisiä, mutta yllätyin siitä kuinka moni oli vienyt homman liian pitkälle. (Bileiden sisäänkäyntijärjestelyt eivät myöskään oikein toimineet…)

- Yöohjelma- Sitä ei ollut OLLENKAAN. Miksi? Yleensä tarjoilla on edes jokin piirustus paja.

 - Café Ichigon jono- En ole vieläkään päässyt kertaakaan kahvilan asiakkaaksi sillä sinne on aina jonoa, mutta sille ei voi oikein mitään ellei sille saada isompia tiloja sekä enemmän henkilökuntaa.

Frost has bitten..

Njaa. Enpä ole taas muistanut päivittää blogiani.. ^_^'

Tämän vuoden Desucon Frostbite oli aivan upea! Kiitos siitä kuuluu mahtavalle Conitealle ja mukaville kävijöille. Ja sain kuin sainkin Rin cosplayni valmiiksi! Peruukki onnistui mielestäni myös kohtalaisen hyvin..

Desucon Frostbite was awesome this year! Thank yous belong to the great Conteam and the people participating. And I did finish my Rin cosplay! The wig came out so well in my opinion..

I'm eagerly waiting for summer Desu~

We also went to sell in HelLoCon with my friends. The program was interesting and the outfits the lolitas had were totaly delicious <3 Too bad I didn't realize to take any pictures...

My toughts exactly...

En ole saanut cosplay asuani yhtään eteenpäin, saati sitten tehtyä tuotteita Taidekujalle. Voiko olla huonompaa ajoitusta olla kipeä?

Toivottavasti pääsen edes tapahtumaan, sillä muuten hotellihuone ja Taidekujapöytä on yhtä tyhjän kanssa. Ja en pääse pitämään 'Tuunaa Desupaitasi'- työpajaa!

I've been sick for nearly a week now and it doesn't seem to get any better.. And Desucon is next week!

I haven't been able to do my copslay at all nor the products I wanted to sell on Artists' Alley. Worst timing ever.

I hope I'll atleast make it to the convention because othervice my hotelroom and the Artists' Alley table are good for nothing. And I can't organize the 'Pimp your DesuShirt'- workshop!

In the matter of fact they were a bit cheaper because you get a discount with a loyality card ;)

Lucky punch

Se kuka sanoi 'etsivä löytää' ei tiennyt mistä puhui.

Viime viikolla kahlatessani läpi UFF ja Fida liikkeitä cosplay materiaaleja varten en löytänyt yhtään mitään. Tai no-- En mitään cosplay suunnitelmiini sopivaa. Kuinka lannistavaa... Eihän Rin Okumuran vaatteet olleet edes suhteellisen vaikeat? Eräänä päivänä työpaikallani, Remake EkoDesign Oyssä, aloin tutkimaan omaa materiaali laatikkoani. Liekö intuitioni äänen käskemänä, mutta sieltä löytyi kun löytyikin puhtaan valkoinen, miesten kauluspaita!

Kotona siivotessani kangaslaatikoitani löysin 2kpl tummia kravatteja ja punaisen kankaan joka riittää juuri miekka pussiksi.

Vaatekaappini uumenista bongasin slimmit, mustat housut ja etsin samalla myös binderini.

Kaikki nämä minulla siis jo oli ja ne ovat vain pientä muokkausta vaille valmiina, odottamassa että löytäisin ne jälleen. Nyt pitäisi vain löytää takki ja kengät.. Ja väkertää ne kaikki ihanat pienet asusteet!

The one who said that 'the one who searches shall find' did not know what they were speaking of.

Last week when I was going trough Uff and Fida- stores for my cosplay materials I didn't find anything. Well-- not anything for my cosplay atleast. How depressing... But Rin Okumuras clothes aren't eaven that difficult? One day at my work, Remake Ekodesign Oy, I started to look trough my own material box. Maybe quided by the voice of my intuition, but from there I found clear white, mens dresshirt!

 At home as I cleaned my fabric boxes I found 2pcs of dark ties and a red fabric that was just enough to make a sword pouch.

From the depths of my closet I spotted slim, black jeans and searched for my binder aswell.

I had all these already, only a slight alteration away from being ready just waiting for me to find them again. Now I should just find jacket and the shoes.. And craft all the awesome little accessories!

Twitchy Switchy

Kuten arvata saattaa, olen (taas) päättänyt vaihtaa cosplay- hahmoni kuukautta ennen conia. Alkuperäisenä suunnitelmana oli siis cossata Prinssi Gumball- hahmoa Adventure Time nimisestä sarjasta. Nyt olen ajatellut että cossaisin Ao No Exorcist mangan päähenkilöä, Rin Okumuraa. Miksi mieleni on niin oikukas..?

As you might've guessed, I have (again) desided to change my cosplay month before the convention. My original plan was to cosplay Prince Gumball from the Adventure Time series. Now I tought I'd want to cosplay Rin Okumura from the Ao no Exorcist manga. Why do I have to have such a fickle mind..?

En ole päättänyt 100% kumpaa cossaisin.. Vai teenkö kenties molemmat? Tuskin.

Tiedän kuitenkin että haluan tehdä asuni mahdollisimman pitkälle kierrätysmateriaaleista. Ensi viikolla UFF- liikkeissä on tasarahapäivät joten suuntaan siis sinne materiaaleja metsästämään ja saa nähdä mitä löytyy~

I haven't decided 100% witch character I should cosplay.. Or if I'll simply do them both? Doubt it.

I do know that I want to make my outfit from recycled materials as much as I can. Next week UFF (recycling shop) is having a sale so I'll go there and search for my materials and we shall see what I find~

The Royal Cosplay

Desucon Frostbite on aivan kulman takana ja Cosplay asuvalinta on suoritettu. Tällä kertaa tiedossa on - Adventure Time- sarjan Prinssi Gumball (a.k.a. Prinsessa Bubblegum)!

Desucon Frostbite is behind the corner and I've finaly decided my Cosplay. This time I shall become Adventure Time- series Prince Gumball(a.k.a. Princess Bubblegum)!

Aikaa asun tekemiseen on peräti 1,5 kuukautta ( ja kun kuvittelin kerrankin olevani aikaisessa..) ja tähän aikaan kuuluu myös työt ja taidekujalle myyntiin tulevien tuotteiden tekeminen.

Cosplay kuumetta liikkeellä..

Tämän vuoden conit taitaa olla minun osaltani käyty, mutta unelmoin jo Desucon Frostbiteen pääsemisestä! Cossi- ideoitakin on jo kerääntynyt muutama ja pitäisikin pikkuhiljaa ruveta päättämään hahmoa, että voisi kerrankin aloittaa sen cosplay asun tekemisen ajoissa (.. ketä minä oikein huijaan). Haluaisin väsätä taas ties kuinka monta asu, mutta päiviä conissa on rajoitetusti. Let's see what I can do! ;)

Ei ihan minun juttuni, mutta loistava cosplay <3
